Shakedown trip – Long Beach

Our campsite at Green Point Campground

We arrived on Friday afternoon of the Father’s Day weekend and got set up. It began to rain shortly thereafter, and did not stop until Sunday morning.

The Green Apple Martini has landed!

It’s amazing how one of these made the rain seem less depressing.

Steller’s Jay scrounging food. We obliged, since she brought her two babies!

We spent a very enjoyable time watching her teach her babies how to pick up the crackers we put down for them.

Kennedy Lake

On the way home, we stopped at the Kennedy Lake boat launch. While Jeannine was cooking hot dogs in Priscilla, I was busy reading the notice on the outhouse wall about recent cougar sightings at this precise spot. We had a less leisurely lunch than originally planned!

A good first trip. Everything worked as it was supposed to, and we had a good time in spite of the weather.

  1. This is very interesting, You’re a very skilled blogger. I have joined your rss feed and look forward to seeking more of your excellent post. Also, I’ve shared your website in my social networks!

  2. Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any recommendations for newbie blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.
