“You Can Check Out Anytime You Like, But You Can Never Leave”

This being our last day in Cabo San Lucas, a number of us carpooled north to Todos Santos, an artist’s community about an hour’s drive up the coast, and home to the original Hotel California, inspiration for the Eagle’s song of the same name:

We rode with Jeff and Tina in their jeep; to picture Jeff, think Bill Engvall, the Blue Collar comedian, except with a beard. Same accent, same way of talking. We spent a pleasant few hours there, and had coffee and a huge cinnamon roll at the Hotel California, after which we did indeed both check out and leave. The great thing about Mexico is that there is entertainment at every red light:

When we got back, we cleaned up the rig a bit in preparation for tomorrow’s drive back to La Paz. We went down to the restaurant and spent a couple of hours having a drink with Jeff and Tina and another couple before calling it a night.
